Ohai Trail and overlook Hiking Maui
The Ohai trail and overlook is a neat little 1.2 mile hike in Upperwest Maui.
Location: The trailhead lies between mile marker 40 and 41 on Highway 30
(just past the Nakalele Blowhole)
This hike is a fun one pretty mellow but a great walk with wonderful views of West Maui and Kahakuloa head
The trail is a loop with some nice plants and few shrubs and bushes and is clearly marked by the DLNR, It also has some wonderful signs telling the history of this side of the island and some info on the plants
( Above - Sign posted at start of trail)
The trail is not busy at all and is a nice walk, can see the Nakalele Blowhole to your west
Kahakuloa head - Shown above, and views of upcountry Maui/ Maui's North Shore.
The bench about past half way through the trail is a wonderful little break to sit and relax and watch for whales in the winter time!
Sign showing some native plants with an ocean view,
